UNCOVERING THE FUTURE TALENTS OF THE NOBLE ART
A LONG-TERM COMMITMENT TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG ATHLETES
At Champion Spirit Country Club, performance is never an abstract ambition. It is built on the ground, in direct contact with reality, where potential first begins to take shape.
On April 17 and 18, 2026, in Grand Bahama, Champion Spirit conducted a boxing talent identification, evaluation, and performance structuring initiative, marking a significant step forward in the organisation of youth athlete development in The Bahamas.
Over two intensive days, boxers aged 5 to 18 were assessed through a structured protocol designed to identify raw talent, motor coordination, athletic capacity, and the fundamental technical skills of boxing.
A FRAMEWORK OF EXCELLENCE
These sessions were led by Coach Vicente Martinez, Head Coach of the Champion Spirit Boxing Academy, and Andretti Bain, Olympic Silver Medalist and Head of Sports at Champion Spirit.
Together, they delivered a demanding, forward-looking evaluation framework, fully aligned with long-term athlete development principles.
Beyond evaluation, Champion Spirit also aimed to provide tangible support to local sporting practice. To meet the training needs of young athletes in Grand Bahama, new pairs of boxing gloves were donated, reinforcing a clear commitment: ensuring access to essential equipment from the earliest stages of the sporting journey.
This initiative is part of a broader vision: building a true continuum between talent identification, development, and elite performance, in service of the next generation of Bahamian boxers.
